In Lizzanello, a small southern town, Anna, from the north, arrives with her husband Carlo. Though seen as the "outsider," she refuses to submit to the oppressive social norms for women. Her love for Carlo gives her the strength to defy these rules. Years later, Anna takes a revolutionary step by applying for a postal position, becoming "the postwoman." Her work unites the community, changing the town's fate as she fights for her independence and dignity.
